Quaywatch started in 2006, when it became apparent that people on Salford Quays were suffering from lack of policing, interest or control over Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB). ASB - a cover all name for public disorder, violence, damage and drunkenness. In fairness this is not restricted to The Quays, it is common in many UK Towns and Cities. But for an area that is openly attracting visitors, people and businesses, steps need to be taken to control and monitor it.
